Today went for a lovely day trip to Malmsbury and Taradale. Sweet little Gold Rush towns under the shadow of some stunning old stone bridges. Is there anything dreamier than a little cottage perched on a hill looking down to a little brook bumbling through a silver forest? Perhaps one at the foot of an old gold rush bridge with cows lazing in its shade?

The whole countryside has awoken and begun to bloom.

Sunday the rain held off until the drive home. Made bold by the prospect of new Nadinoo dressness I shed winter’s coat and boots to frolick on the beach.  But no one celebrated winter’s end quite like Gracie dog.

KING OF THE TOPSOIL MOUNTAIN

 

A quiet weekend down the coast that included a lot of moving boxes across muddy planks. Broad beans and mustard are growing on the salvaged topsoil, of course Gracie claimed her rightful place as king of the mountain. Dylan practiced making tea on his special wood burning camping stove so as to avoid humiliation in front of his camping buddies.
