A LOOP AROUND THE GARDEN

We have finished our PDC course. The final task was to design a garden for a Permablitz in Coburg. It was really interesting doing a design for a real place. The client is time poor so our design centred around an “everyday loop” that they could walk in 5 minutes around the garden to harvest all the things that need to be collected everyday, including chicken eggs. Perennials and orchard trees are on meandering little stepping stone paths off the main loop. My favourite part is the arbor which will be abundant with pumpkins and zucchini in summer.

SHOES IN A LUNCHBOX

The magical thing about pre-loved treasures is that they have already had a little life of their own before they come to live with you. I found these darlings at Coral Vintage on etsy. I made the gamble that the oxfords would fit because they were firstly adorable and just what I was looking for and secondly because they had once lived with a former 1950’s Miss America which is a highly entertaining thought. Luckily for me they fit perfectly, but they’re just too lovely to wear! Waiting for a special occasion.  The lunch tin with the brass pin is the perfect place for my watercolour things to live. The hat…it’s the red feather that killed me dead.

THESIS IS OVER!

It’s been so long! I’m afraid thesis got in the way but now it’s over! Hooray! Now I have my degree in my hot little hand. Oh oh, the real world beckons.

Now because I have been so slack posting in my darling blog I’m going have to kick my ass into gear and attempt to post in this guy everyday for the rest of the week on second thought perhaps once a week is a little more realistic for a lazybones like me. 😉

The morning we took our day trip to Kingoonya we got kicked out of the caravan park . We’re still not quite sure why, something to do with us being “filthy pigs” (i.e. leaving our painting out to dry) and one of the girls using the upstairs bathroom. I think it all came down to the caravan park owner being a hard-on. He used to work at the Detention Centre, everyone in the town despised him. Luckily the town seemed to love us and set us up in the school gym for the night.

Kingoonya was amazing , we all loved it, the slow ruin of the place. We’re not really sure how those cars ended up on the roof of the sheds. It looked as if there had been a flood that gently floated them up there.
